LOL! Who am I kidding? Actually, I’ll be in my car picking up from school and the bus, driving to music lessons and sports practices. 😂

But what I meant is that these two gorgeous books will be with me! And if you haven’t had the chance to check them out, you most absolutely should. They are both INSANELY INSPIRING. I mean it.

Unlike yesterday's quilt, this one has evolved wit

Unlike yesterday's quilt, this one has evolved with the boy (my oldest). Even as his tastes have changed, his bed has changed, his room has changed -- it's somehow passed the test and managed to stay loved. 💛

Neon Nova, as we call it, was made with all Kona cottons. And that yellow -- I think it was called highlighter? - was the color of the year. It happened to be my son's favorite color at the time, too, so it worked out perfectly!

This first picture is of my middle son on his 6th birthday with the first quilt I ever finished. I took this photo to document how much he had grown from when first made it. The quilt was made with @cloud9fabrics, all organic, in anticipation of his arrival— and I can still picture him all snuggled up with it when he was a baby. 👶🏻

Took a trip to NYC to see the Faith Ringgold exhib

Took a trip to NYC to see the Faith Ringgold exhibit, American People, at the @newmuseum. If you are able to go, I highly recommend it. I’ve seen many of Faith Ringgold’s works before but never like this— in a comprehensive collection and in context — as this exhibit shows it. Over 60 years of work in one space. Truly incredible and so inspiring.

A few more shots of Sisterhood of the Traveling Quilt, a collaboration with @megancollins_a.

We started planning this quilt almost 2 years ago at the last in-person QuiltCon (yes, I wrote 2019 on the artist statement, but it actually WAS 2020. I just forgot we actually left the house at the beginning of that year 😂).

It took us almost another year to finalize our color palette and design, which was a combination of New York Beauty blocks (me, being from New York) and Friendship Knots (to represent our friendship across the miles- Megan lives in TX).

We sent fabric, quilt blocks, and the finished top back and forth to have this quilt come together.

We chose to keep the binding a simple continuation of the green except where it intersected with the stars along the edge (zoom in if you want a better look).

It was so much fun to make together, and even better to see it hang in Phoenix.

Oh QuiltCon, I missed you! I didn’t even know how much until I was there. ❤️

Looking back on the weekend I’m feeling very grateful. Thank you so much to @themqg for an amazing weekend of inspiration, connection, and learning. And a huge heartfelt thank you to the @internationalquiltmuseum and MQG for a special evening that I will not forget.

Thank you to every friend new and old that I got to spend time with this weekend! And thank you @tcsoper for being the best and making it possible for me to go and enjoy.

It was a blast to see @megancollins_a — and our quilt hanging in the show. It made it even more special to be able to be there together to see it hang! 🤩

PINCH ME PLEASE!!! This is my first glimpse of Lincoln hanging in the entryway(!) to the new @internationalquiltmuseum exhibition Modern Meets Modern!
