Remember that time I made so many half-square triangles that I told Quilt Buzz that I was suffering from an HST hangover?
It legit took me a looooong time to get over it. I haven’t made a single HST since and that was nearly 5 years ago. But I do think that this quilt, with so much texture and goodness, was all worth it.
A little backstory, this quilt project originally started out as TWO TWIN SIZED QUILTS for my boys that share a bedroom. Hilarious, right?!? It quickly got scaled down to a generous lap sized quilt that they both can share!
These fabrics are from the @artgalleryfabrics collection that I won from a @misterdomestic giveaway. I added in some yellow @robertkaufman linen (sunshine, I believe is the color) and some Essex yarn-dyed linen for the background. The quilting is Woven Wind Panto, done by the amazing Sarah @stitchmodequilts.
I had no concept of how time consuming it would be to make enough squares of this size to cover a twin sized quilt, let alone two. I don’t know why it seemed so tedious, I’ve made HST quilts before. I made 196 circles for the In Our Own Words Quilt. Yet, this quilt nearly broke me.
At least it’s cute!
